Jiajia’s Journey to Decluttering & Organising

My personal experience with ADHD led me to recognise a gap: the disconnect between our items, how we organise them, and our overall well-being.

As I manage my ADHD diagnosis, I started making practical adjustments to my home. It was a process of practising compassion – understanding and accepting wants and needs without judgement, and finding strategies that worked for specific tendencies.

Home becomes a space that nurtures creativity, focus, and rest, instead of just a place to store items and sleep in. I see changes in my self-concept, well-being, and productivity. It sparked a desire to share these tools with others.

I believe in meeting people where they are on their decluttering and organising journey, guiding them towards a point where my services are no longer necessary.

I see my service as building upon existing mental health services, addressing a specific area of life – creating intentional living spaces. Mental health encompasses more than just the bio-psycho-social-spiritual; our physical environment matters too.

This year, I became a registered member of the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD) to further my education and knowledge in this field. My professional journey is driven by the belief that everyone deserves to feel empowered by their space.

Story 1

With three kids between the ages of 1-8 years old, my home was constantly in a state of change. We frequently changed things around to suit the needs of the children as they grow, and most of the time the house was in a mess. Jiajia came to help organise my kitchen cabinets so that I could find more joy in planning different meals for the family and involving the children in preparing meals. It was overwhelming at the start but she broke the steps down in a calm and systematic manner. With her help, it did not feel like too difficult a task to handle. Seeing how she worked gave me the confidence to tackle declutterring and reogranising the children’s playroom on my own as well. It’s still a work in progress but I now have clear and organised cabinets so that I am able to find things that I need quickly. This has reduced my stress and helped me manage things at home better. Thank you for showing me how to make my home more liveable!
